Why We Exist
Since the 1990s, Somaliland’s stray animals have faced mass killings by gun or poisoning, starvation, dehydration, and untreated injuries. SAR-SERVICES Organization addresses this crisis by : –
- Operating the only dedicated animal rescue service in Somaliland.
- Challenging the misconception that dogs are “unclean” by highlighting their value to society.
- Providing emergency medical care, including treatment for accidents, skin diseases, and malnutrition.
- Establishing safe shelters outside urban areas to protect animals from harm.
- Contribute public health improvement by vaccinating dogs and humans from rabies and sterilizing dogs to curb overpopulation
- Utilizing dogs by training them for security purposes, guarding of farms and livestock, home guarding and so on.
- Community engagement and behavior change initiatives as well as adding school education programs about kindness toward animals and welfare programs
